What is Motorola Droid X?
The Android operating system is creating great wonders all over. It has continued to develop itself with diverse features.
For Motorola’s new Droid X, the future does look bright and it is scheduled to be released by Verizon on 15th July 2010. This hugely awaited(p) Android Smartphone has already drawn much limelight prior to its date of release with its many comparison to Sprint HTC Evo 4G and Apple iPhone 4.
One of the reasons for the Droid X coming into the limelight now must certainly be due to the growth of Android as a major player in the mobile smartphone market. According to a report released by marketing firm Cornscore, Android’s mobile market share increase by 44% from February to May. Android’s share of the U.S market leaped from 9 percent in February to 13 percent in May. It really seems like a lot of consumers like what they see in Android and manufacturers have been eager to produce Android products to suit what the consumers desire.
Droid X is an Android 2.1 phone (upgradable to Android 2.2 when available), fitted with a 4.3-inch touch screen, 1GHz central processor , 8-megapixel camera, high-definition video recorder, HDMI jack, Wi-Fi, 8GB of built in memory plus a high-capacity microSD card slot for a likely 40 GB of storage and a inbuilt mobile hot spot.
Unfortunately, it has been getting lots of stick about it not having a front facing camera, being top heavy and having small physical control buttons. In my opinion, it does seem to be rather bulky and might turn out to be quite a tight fit if placed in the pockets. Other than the size issue though, it is a great phone ! Running on Google Android OS v2 .1, sporting a 8-megapixel camera with dual-LED flash, HD video recorder and long electric battery life (which has been the ban of smartphones in general), the Motorola Droid X will for sure be among the best phone in the market place for some time to come.
